On November 20 – 23, 2013, China Paper Association hosted China Paper Week 2013 in the city of Hefei, Anhui, China.
With over decades of operation, this convention is recognized domestically and internationally as the most influential event in the Chinese paper industry. The four-day agenda includes international paper and equipment exhibition 2013 and China paper trade fair, as well as a series of symposiums discussing the latest trends in China’s paper business and technology reformation.
The international paper and equipment exhibition 2013 and China paper trade fair was solemnly opened on November 21, 2013 morning in Anhui International Exhibition Center. Guests attending the opening ceremony were: Vice president of China National Light Industry Council, President of China Paper Association, Mr. Qian Guijing; Vice president of Anhui Light Industry Association, Mr. Wei Qingyin; President of China National Light Industrial Products IMP&EXP. CORP, Mr. Pan Wang; President of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Mr. Cao Chunyu; president of Shandong Paper Association, Mr. Song Honglin; Vice-President and Secretary General of China Paper Association, Mr. Zhao Wei; and other leaders or guests from related department and companies. The square was a sea of people. Ms. Cao Pufang, executive vice president of China Paper Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Qian Guijing, President of China Paper Association, made an opening speech. Mr. Wei Qingyin, Vice president of Anhui Light Industry Association, declared the rally open.
This expo and trade fair lasted 3 days and large domestic enterprises and groups participated actively. Exhibits ranged from pulp, paper and paperboard, paper converters, machinery and equipment, raw materials, paper additives to related chemicals, etc.
The expo gathered buyers from all over the world. With a showing area of nearly 10,000 m2 and more than 100 exhibitors, it is currently the largest and most authoritative professional exhibition. It has earned favorable comment from all the delegates for its large number of professional audience, high quality product, good display effect, strict site management, etc.
The expo provided the new and old friends at home and abroad an opportunity to discuss the development of paper industry. By showing the brilliant achievements made in the paper industry, the image and strength of excellent corporate, the new products, new equipment and new technologies, it would promote the further dissemination of information, the communication and cooperation between companies and the development of paper industry.
In order to provide more information to the exhibitors and attendees, during the expo CPA held several seminars.
“Symposium – 2013 China pulp market” was held on November 20 afternoon. Chinese and international pulp professionals were invited to make presentations on both domestic and international pulp markets and their development.

There was also a summit discussion- “a look at China pulp market from a global perspective”. Leaders from well-known pulp producers, traders and paper mills were invited to join the discussion on establishing a stable but efficient pulp market in China. The seminar served as a communication bridge between pulp producers, traders and paper mills.
“Report – 2013 China paper industry” was made on November 21 afternoon. Mr. Zhao Wei, vice-president and secretary general of China Paper Association, released 2013 Chinese paper industry production and marketing situation and provided an outlook for the coming year. The report hall was packed. All the audience agreed that the report had practical meaning for production and sale. At the same time, Finpro, together with China Paper Association organized a half day seminar” Success Cases from Finland - Efficiency in production and energy is your key to success”. In this seminar, 6 companies from Finland shared their international success experience on production and energy efficiency.
On November 22,” Symposium – 2013 China paper and paperboard business”was held. Some of China’s most influential observers were invited to expound their in-depth insights covering the current status of the operation of China Paper Industry. The speakers were from light industry design institute, China National Household Paper Industry Association, research institute, PPPC and Printing and printing Equipment Industries Association of China. The experts introduced the market status, projects, production and demand of multi-grade paper, and in conjunction with the 12th five year plan of the paper industry forecasted the market demand and develop trends. The attendees responded warmly and they thought that the rich content and reliable data would be strong support for their strategic decisions.
China Paper Week 2013 was a great success in the support of the industry, specially the exhibitors.
